Congrats to #Guelph’s Own Wendy Wei – Trade Mission to China!

When I heard that local student Wendy Wei had been chosen to go over seas to China, while representing our city and Canada – I couldn’t let her go without an “I Love Guelph” shirt!

I’m very proud of Wendy! Our city is proud!

Here’s what she’ll be doing for us:

Leaving for two weeks with “Junior Team Canada”,  for Global Vision, while partnering with and promoting Canadian businesses, education and culture. She’s joining 30 other people on this adventure!

Wendy Wei is currently a grade 11 student from Guelph, Ontario. Born in Henan province and came to Canada as a first generation immigrant family when 2 years old.

She now has the privilege to go back to the country she was born in, not only to reconnect with her culture for the first time, but to embrace her Canadian pride, share it back home with others and gain real life experience in business and international trade – something she is passionate about!

Wendy received great economic development material from the city to share while on her trip!

Good article from Guelph Mercury HERE.

Take care Wendy! Safe travels and we can’t wait to hear about your adventure when you return!
