#Guelph Winter Control Update as of 11am – #StarWars AT-AT Walkers On Standby.

Sorry I’m just getting to post this now for you all! From staff:

Winter control response well underway

Guelph, ON, December 29, 2015–Guelph’s winter control crews have been out in full force responding to the weather event that started yesterday and continued through the night. Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to travel according to the conditions and to exercise caution and leave extra time for travel.

Roads

All primary roads have been plowed. Plows are now working on removing slush and treating secondary routes though several of those roads remain slush-covered. Residential streets have not been treated. Once secondary routes have been cleared, crews will begin treating intersections in residential neighbourhoods.

Sidewalks

Sidewalk plows have been clearing sidewalks since about 3 a.m. and continue to make their way through the city. Residents are reminded that clearing the city’s sidewalks usually takes a few days.

As always, crews have also been focused on the downtown core and public stairwells throughout the city.

Continue to check guelph.ca, Facebook and Twitter for updates about City services that might be affected by the weather including transit, solid waste pick-up, and others.

Thanks! Oh and always give plenty of room if AT-AT Walkers are in your area!
