Freezing rain warning in effect:
Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County
A few hours of freezing rain tonight.
Precipitation associated with an approaching weather system will spread into the regions this evening. It is forecast to begin as snow and ice pellets then quickly change to freezing rain before changing to rain after midnight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Utility outages may occur.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
