City seeks input on affordable housing strategy!

The ‘head’s up’ went out on Feb 3, for the deadline next day.

It’s so incredibly easy to think Guelph isn’t serious on the issue. Meantime many Cdn cities are taking the issue very seriously, many through creative rezoning to involve the private sector, like Toronto’s CRE zoning, or Vancouver’s remarkable triple usage zoning (Light industrial, commercial and residential all in the same building, let lone zone) and US cities decades ahead of Canada.

See: Engines of Opportunity – New York City Council – NYC.gov
council.nyc.gov/downloads/pdf/NYEO.pdf There’s a whole chapter in the report devoted to triple zoning, and examples of other US cities doing same.

But of course, it’s written in cogent English, very difficult for Guelphites to understand.

    How’s that Storm doing, eh?
