Last week the community came out with flying colours to support the Winter Warm Up Fundraiser at the Shelldale Centre! I was greeted by the always smiling Ali Hoang who does such great work in our city! She introduced me to the Tai Chi group below.
I was there to serve food with many others from our community. Our MP Lloyd Longfield, Chief of Police, Fire and EMS personnel. Leaders from the board of directors were on hand along with Magic 106.1, city councillors and many more!
Thank you to the sponsors that made this event happen! And the over 40 volunteers too! Corporate sponsors helped with funds, items to donate to the silent auction and to help purchase food.
The Shelldale Centre helps families and individuals with many programs. A breakfast club, child themed activities and many other workshops. There’s even an after school program as well. They help people in the Willow Rd area connect with clothing, food and other supportive programs.
I certainly am looking forward to next years event and hope many more people come out to enjoy it too!
