On behalf of the City of Guelph I wish to congratulate Guelph’s MPP, the Honourable Liz Sandals, on her appointment as President of Treasury Board in the cabinet of Premier Wynne.

In this role, Liz will be responsible for delivering on the government’s program spending objectives, as laid out in the annual budget. This is an extremely important role in the Provincial Government. She has a track record of dedicated service as Guelph’s MPP since 2003 and Minister of Education from 2013 until today’s cabinet shuffle.

As President of Treasury Board, Minister Sandals also serves on the Priorities, Delivery and Growth cabinet committee. This committee is responsible for tracking government priorities and steering the government’s economic plan – setting the government’s overall strategic directions and priorities, and monitoring results.  

Liz’s role in the Premier’s cabinet is good news for Guelph because it means we have an even stronger voice for us at Queen’s Park.
