The City is working with Hycon Servicing Inc. to update sidewalk infrastructure in Ward 1 and allow for better accessibility for all residents. The City is taking action to modernize the sidewalk ramps at various intersections to meet the standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005).
All work will take place on City property.
Construction begins week of July 11
Construction at various sites in Ward 1 is expected to start week of July 11 and continue throughout the summer, weather permitting.
Construction will take place on the City boulevard and roads will remain open throughout the duration of the work. Minor traffic delays can be expected.
Specific sidewalk intersections will be blocked off for construction. Pedestrians are asked to be mindful of the construction pylons and signs, and to use an alternative sidewalk to reach their destination.
This project will not impact access to private property however some minor construction noises may be expected during normal working hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m.).
There will be no interruptions to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
The City appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Project details and any updates will be posted on guelph.ca/construction.
