#Guelph Culture Days Approaching Fast! Sign Up By Sept 14th!

Guelph, Ont., August 22, 2016 – Individuals, groups and organizations looking to be part of Guelph’s Culture Days celebrations have until September 14 to register their arts and cultural activities.
To date, numerous Guelph activities have been registered on the Culture Days website, which lists events happening across Canada from September 30 to October 2.
“We’re already seeing a strong registration response from Guelph,” says Jen Rafter, cultural program and event coordinator for the City of Guelph. “It’s refreshing to see different businesses and organizations hosting activities and taking an interest in participating.”
The scope of Culture Days activities is virtually limitless and includes visual arts, music, dance, theatre, architecture, heritage, film, video, literature, culinary arts, and new media. Any cultural activity, whether community-based, amateur, professional or educational, may be registered provided the activity is free to the public and is participatory or interactive in nature.
Anyone interested in participating is urged to register their event or activity on the Culture Days website culturedays.ca before September 14 to ensure they are listed in the weekend’s program produced by the City of Guelph.
About Culture Days:
Launched in 2010, Culture Days encourages citizens across Canada to celebrate and explore the arts and culture within their own communities. The national Culture Days website provides tips, tools and training opportunities for those who register and all events will be promoted in national and regional campaigns. Locally, the City and Guelph Arts Council work together to connect our community to the Culture Days resources, and promote the registered events. In 2015, Guelph made the top 10 list of Canadian cities and towns participating in Culture Days. Ranking eighth within the group with populations of 50,000 to 499,999, Guelph hosted about 50 activities, events, and exhibitions that took place during the sixth annual Culture Days celebrations.
