@LGLizDowdeswell Visits #Guelph to Experience Our People & Hear Our Stories

Her Honour, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell, requested through the Mayors office approximately a month ago that she would like to visit Guelph!

We were thrilled to welcome her to our city.

Following a delightful meeting with myself and city CAO Derrick Thompson, the Lieutenant Governor then joined local leaders in the environmental, business, and voluntary sectors during a roundtable focusing on sustainability in energy, food, waste management, and water.

The picture below shows the many citizens and business leaders at our round table discussion on sustainability, the environment and other exciting opportunities in our city!

Reception at the Guelph Civic Museum
We then made our way to the Civic Museum where Her Honour addressed local representatives, municipal staff, leaders of civil society, and members of the arts and athletic sectors.

Her visit this morning was finished off by experiencing the great new John McCrae statue. I could tell she was very found of it, as is our whole city!

I again would like to thank Her Honour for visiting Guelph.

I am sure you will be great at telling our stories to many others!
