My concern is the increase in taxes and non tax base fees that have and are taking place. Over the last 5 years taxes and fees have increased beyond 10% for the city, not including provincial and federal costs. My CPP/OAS has not increased anyway near that amount. Funds from RRSP and others have not increased. In fact they have decreased based on world economy. I know we need to maintain our City and work needs to be done, however, I am concerned we are getting close to a saturation point where people may not be able to maintain these taxes and fees. This proposal transfers another cost to individuals (Waste Water) so what is transferred next year. I believe it is time to look at cutting costs everywhere.
