Celebrating #Chanukah & Lighting of the Menorah in #Guelph

I was honoured tonight to join the Guelph Jewish community to bring greetings on behalf of the city and council for Chanukah!

A video of my remarks:

I was also able to light the centre flame on a giant 9 foot Menorah! Here’s a quick video:

Rabbi Raphi brought formal greetings and welcomed everyone along with a board member from Beth Isaiah (synagogue member). There was a short video clip about Menorahs from around the world and then after the lighting, everyone was invited to celebrate with food and refreshments!

There was well over 150 people in attendance. Both Jewish and non Jewish people were welcomed!

A great evening and I hope this can continue to be a part of an annual event for all! It’s wonderful to see our public spaces used in this way.

From my family to yours,  have a happy Chanukah!
