Honouring workers on the National Day of Mourning

Today is the National Day of Mourning – a day when we remember all those who lost their lives on the job, and honour those who have suffered injuries or occupational illnesses or diseases. It’s also a day when we rededicate ourselves to worker health and safety.

Flags at City Hall and other facilities are at half-mast and City Hall is lit up yellow to commemorate this day.

Please join me in pausing today to remember and honour those who lives were lost or forever changed in the workplace.
