Yesterday, at a press conference in Markham, alongside 28 other mayors representing the Ontario Big City Mayors Caucus (which represent 70% of Ontario’s population), I joined Mayor Bryan Patterson from Kingston, Mayor Josh Morgan from London and Mayor Alex Nuttle from Barrie to express or urgent concerns and requests from upper levels of government due to cities having the inability to fully control encampments, open drug use, public safety and supportive housing care for those with addictions and mental health issues.
