I stopped by the Ward Skate Park tonight to check in on how the city funds are going for the open youth skate times throughout the summer!
Smiles all around!
What was such a surprise to me was that the young man in the picture above was the one who emailed myself and Ward 1 Councillors Bob Bell and Dan Gibson, asking if the city was planning on helping kids with this recreational option this year? His mom came up to me and introduced her son to me so this was just one of the highlights of my day to meet him because it was just so random!
As I’ve blogged before, a big thanks to the city CAO Ann Pappart for making this summer activity happen for Guelph kids!
Owner Matt Schmidt has been the only source for skateboarding & scooters in this town for years and years! The community needs to thank him for stepping up when frankly the city didn’t for way too long.
